As That's So Maven! moves further into 2017, we have some news to share with you all: co-host Lauren Dary will not be continuing on with the show as she steps back to focus on her business and family. We'll be releasing our final pre-recorded interview as co-hosts tomorrow.
I want to extend a huge thank you to Lauren for being part of this journey. I know I can speak for the both of us when I say that it's been a wild ride and a significant learning experience! I'm looking forward to seeing all of the amazing projects I know L Photography will be taking on in the future, and I will definitely continue to share news about Lauren's business on the That's So Maven! social media channels.
Lauren wanted to share the following message with everyone who's been a part of That's So Maven!, both listeners and guests alike:
The word “maven”, by definition, means an expert or connoisseur. I’ve always loved the word. There is something so beautiful and powerful about it. So, when we were trying to name the podcast, incorporating “maven” felt like a perfect fit. Ironically, I didn’t feel much like a maven with where I was in my professional life at that time, but I felt like that was okay. I knew what the term meant to us and that this was the perfect chance to shine that deserved spotlight on the abundance of Mavens that run this beautiful city.
I want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all of the Mavens we’ve had on the podcast and every single member of our audience. I feel privileged to have been a part of such a wonderful community. You all have made me feel like I am a part of something greater, and I can’t thank you enough for that. As I transition from co-host to avid listener, I will do so with a heavy heart, but also with such joy and honour for having been a part of creating and experiencing this. As I go forward, I am excited to spend more time with my family and to focus on my business. With any new venture comes new responsibility, and sometimes that can just be too much to handle with everything else going on. I will listen with fondness and I look forward to hearing all of the new Mavens as Andrea takes things forward.
To the Mavens I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with – thank you so much for allowing me that glimpse into your world and sharing so openly with us. It was so lovely to meet you and I can’t explain how much your words have impacted me. You all have had such a positive influence on my own business and life. You have taught me so much. From teaching me that it’s okay to feel like you are failing and also that it’s okay to actually fail. And that I’m not alone in sometimes feeling isolated. That it’s in our best interest to ask for help when you need it and to go forward without fear. And, of course, to follow your passion through the natural evolution of yourself and your business. I could go ON and ON about all of the things you have taught me throughout this process. Listening to your words and feeling that connection has been inspiring, empowering and unwavering. Thank you. I want to say it a thousand times over – THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I am so looking forward to the continued insight and inspiration from the future guests.
Thank you to you all for listening and being a part of this vision. It has been such an incredible journey for me and I am so glad it will be continuing on with Andrea at the helm. Thank you for supporting this amazing podcast. YOU make this what it is and you make this community better for being a part of it.
Cheers to the future and to hearing all of the future Mavens share their insight, struggles and life with all of us. Love to you all and thank you, seriously, so very much.
All my best,
Before you fret, know that That's So Maven! isn't going anywhere! New episodes are coming, as well as some really exciting expansions and shifts in direction. It has been absolutely life-changing to meet, speak to, and connect with all of the brilliant women we've interviewed over the last 10 months, and I'm ready and eager to keep growing the network of determined, supportive, and inspiring women this podcast sparked last summer.
Stay tuned - a new episode hits the airwaves next week. Tuesday mornings are ours.
See you next week!
